The Fundamentals
This course is the gateway to developing your skills in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field (the indirect Osteopathic technique, including cranial osteopathy.) It is delivered over three days of face-to-face learning, supported by pre and post course online learning resources. Certificates of completion are provided when all online and face to face components have been completed.
The Fundamentals course is designed to present the key theory developed by Dr Sutherland, the key techniques as well as discussion of research, practice strategies, questions and answers. The 1:4 tutor to student ratio allows the tutors to teach the practical sessions to the level of the student. The clinical application of the course content is discussed in these small groups with tutors during our table sessions. Thus the Fundamentals caters for those who are new, through to those who are doing their second, third or further refresher.
The course will include an understanding of the five phenomena of the Primary Respiratory Mechanism, the anatomy and physiology of the cranial bones and sacrum, develop to palpation of the body and the diagnosis and treatment of infants and children.
Completion of this course is recognised in the United States and the United Kingdom, and counts towards prerequisites for US and UK courses.
